Sodium Hydroxide

Sodium Hydroxide is a popular substance as it is commonly seen in cleaning product as they can remove tough stains like burnt oil from metals or ceramic without damaging it. Since it is a strong alkali, it is also used for neutralizing. For example, our teeth, we eat food a lot of times and acids are formed on our teeth. Without any alkaline on our teeth, the acid will decay our teeth. Hence, the reason we have sodium hydroxide in toothpaste
Sodium Bicarbonate
Also known as Baking Soda, it has a large range of uses from baking to cleaning. However, we are gonna talk about the baking part. Baking soda are used for its acid-neutralizing property (since Sodium Bicarbonate). In which, because without it, there would be too much acid in our food and may cause damage to our health. Additionally, Baking Soda is used for leavening bread (Leavening is a method to keep the batter take shape and size when they are being baked.)and deodorizing, so there won't be a foul smell in our goods especially if they are packed in small spaces.
Citric Acid
Commonly used as a flavouring to our soda (pop) or any carbonated drinks. Citric acid gives our drinks the sour or acidic taste in our drinks. It can be commonly found in lime, lemon, orange juice. Another use of Citric acid is that, it could be used as a preservative in some foods, especially, canned goods. They are also known as a natural preservative.
